Team Speedway unveiled the new 1967 Chevy Camaro in Indianapolis during the 2016 PRI Trade Show! 2x Indy 500 winner Al Unser Jr. & 9x Pikes Peak Hill Climb winner Robby Unser were there to talk with Chevy High Performance, Super Chevy Magazine & hundreds of fans about the new autocross ride for the 2017 competition season!
Specifically designed for autocross & road race competitions, the new Team Speedway 1967 Camaro was built around the rear suspension from a 2011 Camaro. Upgraded with BMR components and a G-Force Engineering 9" Ford center section conversion, Team Speedway also heavily modified the coil over design for ease of access for adjustments on the track. The front suspension is a modified Speedway Motors G-Comp Unser Edition subframe, mounting to the stock points on the Camaro body. The Camaro rides on 4-way fully adjustable AFCO shocks. Providing the power is a GM aluminum block 440 built by Speedway Motors Racing Engines with 18 deg. aluminum GM heads, Jesel belt cam drive, MSD ignition, and a set of Kinsler stacks modified to run EFI for a FAST Engine Management System. A Tremec T-56 with a Dederichs Motorsports no-clutch dogbox conversion moves that power to the rear.
